How to Make Objects Snap to Points in Illustrator

Then, follow these easy steps:

Adobe Illustrator's Snap to Point feature assists in aligning objects to anchor points, such as corners, when moving them . Although the option to enable this feature exists under the "View" menu of the top toolbar, this selection only toggles the feature with no way to fine tune it. By accessing the preferences for the “Snap to Point” feature, you can enable the feature and control its sensitivity. You may choose to have objects snap to points anywhere within 1 to 8 pixels of anchor points.

1

Click "Edit" in the top menu, go to "Preferences" and select "Selection & Anchor Display".

2

Check "Snap to Point" in the Selection section.

3

Enter a value between 1 and 8 in the Snap to Point's "Px" field, which tells Illustrator how many pixels away you need to be before the object snaps to an anchor.

4

Click "OK".

Still not snapping? Go to View > Smart Guides (Cmd + U) and you should be ready to go.
