How to Unmesh in Adobe Illustrator

Whenever you’ve applied a gradient mesh to an object in Adobe Illustrator, you’ll notice the grid that has been added to your object. In case you want to clean up your object or “unmesh” it for some other reason, follow these steps:

1

First, select the object that has the gradient mesh by clicking on it with your mouse.

2

Select "Object" followed by "Path" and "Offset Path."

3

Enter "0" in the "Offset" box, and then select "OK."

4

Your object has now been “unmeshed” and is duplicated on top of the original object.

Tip: Use Cmd + X to cut the unmeshed object to make it easier to remove the original object. Then, use Cmd + F to paste the unmeshed object in the same place.
